The MyTorontoCity Business Directory section has been set up in such a way that allows business owners a very easy way to introduce thier businesses to GTA (Greater Toronto Area) residents through the Internet. Please read these guidelines carefully. If you do not agree to the terms, you are not authorized to use the MyTorontoCity Business Directory in any way.

YOU ASSUME TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK FOR YOUR USE OF THE SITE AND THE INTERNET. MyTorontoCity.com PROVIDES THE SITE AND RELATED INFORMATION "AS IS" AND DOES NOT MAKE ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. MyTorontoCity.com DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OR THAT DEFECTS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED. BUSINESS DIRECTORY TERMS & CONDITIONS

You understand and agree that you are entirely responsible for all postings, messages, text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, or any other materials that you post and/or make available via MyTorontoCity.com.

You agree not to post, email, or make content avaliable:

that you do not have a right to make available;
that includes personal or identifying information about another person or business or company without that person or business or company permission;
that contains "Get Rich Quick schemes", "pyramid schemes", "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", and illegal and fraudulent activities;
that violate any trademark, patent, copyright or any other proprietary rights;
that is unlawful, harmful, false, misinformative, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, deceitful;

By using MyTorontoCity.com you also agree not to:

collect personal information about other users for unlawful or commercial purposes;
contact anyone who has asked not to be contacted;
harass or/and stalk anybody;
use automated devices including but not limited to spiders, robots, RSS feeds, crawlers, computer programs and any other automated tools for posting listings, collecting information, or contacting MyTorontoCity.com customers for any purpose - unless permitted by MyTorontoCity.com;

We are a Toronto based Business Directory therefore we accept business listings from Toronto and and GTA (Greater Toronto Area) only. We accept listings the following cities and towns: Ajax, Aurora, Brampton, Brock, Burlington, Caledon, Clarington, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Halton Hills, King, Markham, Milton, Mississauga, Newmarket, Oakville, Oshawa, Pickering, Richmond HIll, Scugog, Uxbridge, Vaughan, Whitchurch-Stouffville and Whitby.

One customer/company may publish one business listing only under the most appropriate category. Duplicate listings will be removed without notice and customers spamming our system will be banned from using the Toronto Business Directory.

Please add your business listing to the appropriate category only. Ads published within an inappropriate category will be removed without notice.

We realize that some companies may have several different business activities that may fit under different categories and therefore in some cases we may allow publishing your business listing under a second category. If you think that this is the case with your company you may submit a second listing for approval, just make sure to write a completely different company description that exactly reflects your second business activity and fits under the proper category.

We allow to publish direct links to your company website but only by using the specific URL field. Do not put any links in your listing Title and/or listing Description. If you do so, your listing will be removed immediately without notice.

Your listing title must be your company name or your website name. We allow you to use a maximum of up to 3 descriptive words after the company name. The company name and the descriptive words must be separated by a dash (–). For example for our site the title could be “My Toronto City” or “My Toronto City – Business Directory”.

Use of repeated keywords or keyword spamming, weird spacing, weird characters, etc., in the listing Title and/or listing Description will get your listing removed.

Your ADMIN session will ‘time out’ if you are idle in ADMIN for more than 8 minutes. Therefore, prepare your entries before going to DMIN.

No fake e-mails or autoresponders. Your e-mail must be valid. If your email becomes inactive, unfortunately, your account will be deleted. Please update your account information periodically.

You will sometimes receive periodic and infrequent mailings. When an important matter pops up you may receive a series of emails. If you do not want emails, please do not submit your listings. Complaining about it after and/or reporting us as a spamer to your email service provider will get your listings removed without notice and you will be banned from using the Toronto Business Directory.

All listings in the MyTorontoCity Business Directory section are monitored by editors and volunteers. Listings that violate our Terms and Conditions will be removed immediately without notice. Customers spamming our system will be banned from using the Toronto Business Directory.

MODIFICATIONS TO THESE TERMS

MyTorontoCity.Com reserves the rights to add, delete or modify any part of its Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. Such modifications will become effective immediately upon the posting. It is solely your responsibility to review this agreement on a regular basis to keep yourself aware of any changes.

PRIVACY

MyTorontoCity.com recognizes that your privacy is very important to you and that you have a right to control your personal information. We know that providing personal information is an act of trust and we take that trust seriously.

The server on which the MyTorontoCity.com is located collects and saves only standard web log entry information. This information may include the date and time of your visit, the pages and images requested, your IP address and timestamp.

All other personal information that is collected and saved is displayed on MyTorontoCity.com if you choose to provide such information.

We will never willfully disclose any information about our visitors and/or customers without first receiving the visitors and/or customers permission, however you must understand and agree that MyTorontoCity.com may, in its sole discretion, preserve or disclose your information, such as email addresses, IP addresses, your posted content, and/or any other user information, if required to do so by law, court orders, or other legal process. We will never share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your email address is not publically displayed and is not vulnerable to being harvested for use in bulk (spam) email distributions. Do not publish your email in the listing body. Your Account information is password-protected. Keep your password safe.

For paid postings - MyTorontoCity.com does not store credit card information. Credit card transactions are transmitted thorugh a financial third party gateway. We only use payment providers that offer to protect the security of your payment information by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

MyTorontoCity.com make good faith efforts to securley store your information. However, we cannot guarantee complete security. Also, since each listing is publicly viewed, there is no convenient solution to ceasing malicious individuals and "spammers" from using the information in your listing(s) in a manner that you may not agree with.

MyTorontoCity.com, or people who post on MyTorontoCity.com, may provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. Those third party websites, may also collect information about you when you view or click on their graphical ads or text links. We are not responsible for and have no control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites. You should contact those advertisers directly if you have any questions concerning your privacy and their advertising.

Permission is granted to view and print materials from MyTorontoCity.com for the non-commercial purpose of viewing, reading, and retaining for reference. Any other copying, distribution, retransmission, or modification of information or materials on this site, whether in electronic or hard copy form, without express written permission of MyTorontoCity.com, is strictly prohibited.
